Accra
Ok, lets see. This truly is the 3rd world - and all that implies. It's hot, we are only 5 degrees from the equator, so hot really isn't the word I would use, more like oven. I am in the capitol Accra, big city but remember 3rd world, with an British flair. I'm staying at the Hotel Frankie's here. The cool part is whenever you leave your room there is always three or four people waiting to show you around their city, but in a nice way. They want you to tell their story so more will come. I don't have pix yet I'm having a hard time getting them to download (3rd W). We will be in Accra for only 1 more day then we head north to Tamale to begin our first dig; I'm really looking forward to that. The people here are in such need that whatever you do is seen as an improvement for them. The strangest thing is that I'm in a place where everybody looks like me, so with that said Iwould encourage everyone of color to visit their homeland just once. I am in the birthplace of my ancestor's, and I feel their spirits calming me so I can say with all certainty I will be fine Leslie so don't worry.

Hi Arece,
I love the blog and will check it everyday. We are grateful for the detail and your insights about where you are. I can't imagine the cutlture shock. Looking forward to hearing more.
Love you
Shelley
Hi Arece! It sounds wonderful. Thank you for keeping the messages coming, and thanks especially for the pictures with all the trouble they take. I expect there will be a lot to see after you get home, but it's nice to have some images while you're there. Good luck in Tamale!
Love,
Deb
